Container Contest Official Rules

How to Enter Create a unique, whimsical and/or breathtaking garden in a container. Take photos at your creation’s pinnacle of beauty and email them to us. Send us your digital photo, each no larger than 5 mb in .gif, .jpg or .png format to photo@botanicalinterests.com with “CONTAINER CONTEST” in the subject line. Any file not meeting these requirements will be rejected upon submission. Include your name, address and phone number in the body of the email and list all the varieties used in each container, as well as any additional information you think will help tell your gardening story. Limit three (3) photo entries per person. Photo must be received by October 31, 2012. No files that are contaminated or infected with a virus or any other corruption that is either intended or may result in damage to the computers and systems of Botanical Interests, Inc. and/or its users.

Prizes have no cash value and may not be exchanged for other prizes or cash.

Eligibility No purchase necessary to participate in this contest. Entrant must be a legal resident of the United States and 18 years or older to enter. This contest is void wherever prohibited or restricted and subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws. Photos must be of the entrant’s own container garden. Entries with incomplete contact information may be disqualified. Employees of Botanical Interests, Inc and their divisions, and/or the immediate family (spouse, parents, siblings and children) and household members (whether related or not) of such employee, their advertising or promotion agencies, those involved in the production, development, implementation or handling of contest, any agents acting for, or on behalf of the above entities are not eligible. No images from other sources or material published elsewhere. No images that infringe on any copyright, trademark or other legal property right.

Timeline Photo must be received by October 31, 2012. Winners will be announced November 30, 2012.

Voting on Contest Entries Overall composition, aesthetics, and creativity. The greater the percentage of BI varieties, the greater the chances of winning. Entries should contain at least half BI varieties (by count not biomass). Visible assessment of health and conditions of the plant material will be noted. Choice of container can affect judging is especially pertinent to or distracting from composition.

Awarding of Prizes Winners will be announced November 30, 2012. Notification will be sent via the email that the entry came from, as well as the physical address provided with the entry. Receiving your prize via mail may take up to 30 days from the date of the announcement of the winners. The winner, by acceptance of any prize, acknowledges compliance with the Botanical Interests Container Gardening Contest Official Rules and agrees to release Botanical Interests, Inc. and against any claim or cause of action arising out of participation in the Botanical Interests Container Gardening Contest or the receipt, redemption, or use of any prize, including any injuries or damages of any kind sustained in connection with the use, acceptance, possession, or awarding of any prize.

Winners agree, by acceptance of the above-mentioned prize(s), to the use of their name and submitted photo for advertising and publicity purposes at the discretion of management of Botanical Interests, Inc.

Limitation of Liability If, for any reason, the Botanical Interests Container Gardening Contest is not capable of running as planned, Botanical Interests, Onc. reserves the right at its sole discretion to disqualify any entry or entrant and/or to cancel, modify, or suspend the contest.
