Organic Seed
At Botanical Interests we offer the choice of organic seed and conventionally produced (untreated) seed. Both the organic seed and conventional seed varieties are non-GMO and untreated. We now offer over 145 organic seed varieties.
In addition to being a better choice for our environment, growing organic seed and untreated conventional seed is most beneficial to you and your family.
You can have a healthy organic garden by caring for the soil organically and using organic growing methods. Fertile soil and organic gardening techniques will give you a vigorous organic garden.
As longtime organic gardeners, we believe that organic products are important for the health of the environment. Reducing the amount of pesticides, synthetic fertilizers, and other chemicals in our environment helps to preserve the biodiversity of plants, animals, insects and micro-biotic life. Studies have shown that when plants use their own self-defense systems for survival and grow in healthy soil, they absorb more nutrients like antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals. Offering certified organic seed is a fundamental first step towards the future success of sustainable organic agriculture.
The organic farmers and suppliers that provide Botanical Interests with organic seed are certified organic. This certification ensures that they meet USDA standards that include soil tests for pesticide residues, adherence to approved soil amendments and monitoring of farming procedures. They take pride in hands-on attention to soil health and variety quality. As with our conventional seed, all our organic seed is tested for germination and purity by an independent laboratory before it is packed. This ensures that the seed we are packing meets our rigorous standards for germination of our organic seed.
