50-60 days. Watermelon radish makes a gourmet conversation piece when presented sliced and cleverly sprinkled with black sesame seeds. The outside of this 3” diameter (tennis ball size), mild radish is white with green shoulders, and the inside is rosy red. Also called ‘red meat’ radish, this winter radish keeps its flavor and consistency longer in the ground, resulting in a longer harvest period.

When to sow outside: RECOMMENDED. 8 to 10 weeks before first fall frost, and 2 to 3 successive sowings every 10 days. In mild winter climates, successive sowings can be continued until temperatures are too cold for germination.
When to start inside: Not recommended.
Harvesting: Harvest in late fall or early winter before ground freezes. Harvest atany size, tiny for hors d’oeuvres or large for cooking.
