50 days. Dragon’s Tongue will tempt you with its rich green leaves accented by stunning red veins and midrib. Its complex flavor is zesty and peppery. Add to salads, stir-fries, pasta dishes, as a topping for sandwiches and on pizza. Grow young, tender baby greens in just a few weeks or enjoy full size in less than two months. Sow successive crops every two weeks for a continuous harvest.

This packet sows three 10-foot rows of baby greens or fifteen 10-foot rows when spaced for full size production.

When to sow outside: RECOMMENDED. 2 to 4 weeks before average last frost, and successive sowings thereafter every 3 weeks until 2 weeks before the average first fall frost. USDA zone 8 or warmer: Also in fall for winter harvest.

When to start inside: 4-6 weeks before average last frost.

Harvesting: Young Dragon’s Tongue leaves have the best flavor and coloration. Pick leaves when at least 2” long but no longer than 4”; pick them individually or cut off the plant at ground level. Harvest before plant begins to flower, but you may allow the plant to flower if you plan to eat the flowers.
