This stunning and unusual climbing vine commands attention in the garden. Also called Firecracker Vine or Exotic Love vine, these tall vines with twining stems reach 10 feet or more and are covered with lush green foliage. The show really begins when the brilliantly colored rows of flowers adorning the dark stems appear in the short days of summer and fall. Attracts hummingbirds. Best grown on a fence or trellis.

When to sow outside: 1 to 2 weeks after average last frost. Plants started too early outside will end up less vigorous than plants started when temperatures are warmer.

When to start inside: 4 to 6 weeks before transplanting outside. Sow into a pulp pot and transplant directly outside to avoid disturbing roots.

Special germination instructions: Soak seed in water for 12 to 24 hours or nick with sandpaper before sowing.
