Item #1807
Perennial. An endless succession of shimmering, ephemeral flowers seems to glow in the evening light. Blooming from summer to fall, the white flowers may be tinged with a pink blush. Plants grow in a wide range of soils and exposures. Gaura is a good choice for dry sites because it is very tolerant of heat and drought. Grown as an annual in colder climates. Excellent for borders, wildflower gardens and native plantings. Attracts bees and butterflies. Deer resistant.

When to sow outside: 1 to 2 weeks after average last frost, or in fall for germination the following spring.
When to start inside: 10 to 12 weeks before average last frost.
Special germination instructions: Gaura germinates over several weeks so don’t be discouraged if all seedlings don’t pop up at the same time.
