Perennial. Firecracker blooms with brilliance as early as April, and is the
only red penstemon to be
found as far north as Utah. It
lives up to its name, with fiery
red tubular flowers amassed
on tall spikes. Very heat and
drought tolerant, perfect for a
sunny, rocky slope or wildflower
garden.

When to start inside: 6 to 8 weeks before average last frost. Cooler soil temperatures are preferred (around 55° F).
