45 days. Planting your garden a little late? Oak Leaf Blend is the ideal choice. Leaves remain tender and sweet without the bitterness that often develops in other lettuces when warmer weather arrives. The beautiful, oak leaf shaped leaves are wonderful for salads and sandwiches, or picked very young for mesclun.

This packet sows ten 6-foot rows.

Seed Spacing:
A group of 4 seeds every 6"

Row Spacing:

Thinning:
When 1/2" tall, thin to 1 every 6"


When to sow outside: 2 to 4 weeks before average last frost, and successive sowings thereafter every 3 weeks until 2 weeks before the first fall frost. USDA zone 8 or warmer: also sow in fall for winter harvest.

When to start inside: 6 to 8 weeks before last frost and in summer when soil temperatures are too warm outside to germinate lettuce seed

Harvesting: Individual leaves can be harvested anytime as desired. The whole plant can be sheared to 2" above ground level when plant is 6" - 8" in diameter; more leaves will be produced.
