Water Wise Mix Seed
Mix - assorted
$4.99

Item #7002

A collection of extremely adaptable, drought-tolerant, hardy, and beautiful varieties for the waterwise gardener. It includes 20 annuals and perennials with a range of bloom times from spring through fall. The palette of colors ranges from soft white to bright yellows to cool blues, and the textures are both delicate and bold. 'Xeriscape' (pronounced 'Zir-i-scape') means water-efficient landscaping. Although sometimes mispronounced 'zero-scape', it does not mean zero water use or zero plant use (as seen in some 'rockscapes'!). Xeriscape promotes environmentally sound gardening techniques (see inside of packet for tips), water conservation, and reduced maintenance while producing beautiful landscapes with year-round appeal. You will enjoy the wonderful color that this mix of drought-tolerant flowers provides. It covers approximately 65 square feet.

When to plant outside: Sow 1-2 weeks before the average last spring frost. A second option: sow half the seed 4 weeks before the average last frost (hoping the last frost is earlier than usual) and sow the second half a week or two after the average last frost (just to be safe).

When to start inside: Not recommended.

Special Sowing & Germination Instructions: A great way to tell if the seedlings coming up in your planting area are from the flower mix or weeds is to sow a pinch of the seeds in a container at the same time for comparison.
