Cardinal Climber Vine Seed
Ipomoea - multifida
$1.99

Item #1155

Annual. Blooms summer to fall. 6'-20' vine. Full sun. This fast-growing vine has stunning dainty 2" red tubular flowers with a white/yellow throat and lacy fern-like foliage. Pair it with Morning Glories or Scarlet Runner Beans for an explosion of color! Grows best in lean, moist soil. (Do not plant in rich soil or add fertilizer which may encourage vigorous foliage but no blooms.) Though flowers may start to appear in early to mid-summer, they may not occur until later in summer, but then will bloom prolifically until frost. Please note that all parts of this plant are poisonous, including the seeds.

When to plant outside: Spring, after last average day of frost or up until early summer when temperatures warm up (do not plant too early).

When to start inside: Sow 4-6 weeks before planting outside (late spring, early summer). Roots do not like to be disturbed ? transplant with extreme care.

Special Germination Instructions: Soak seeds in water for 12-24 hours or nick with sandpaper before planting.

We cannot ship this variety to Arizona as per state regulations. Please do not order if your shipping address is in this state.
