Tall, dark, and handsome. Ignite excitement in the garden with these appealing 3'-5' tall towers of deep purple stems layered with lush corn-like grassy leaves and fuzzy flower spikes. They make an dramatic focal point in the center of a planting, can be grown in groups of three or more, and can add height to container plantings. Grow in full to partial sun. Heat and drought tolerant once established. This striking annual was an All-America prestigious Gold Medal Award in 2003. 15 seeds per packet.
When to plant outside: 3 to 4 weeks after the average last spring frost. and when soil temperatures are above 65 degrees F.
When to start inside: 2 to 4 weeks before the average last spring frost.
Special Germination Instructions: Loves warm weather. Germination and growth will be delayed in cool temperatures.
Container Tips: Plants will not grow to full size or branch if grown in too small of a container where they will become rootbound. Purple Millet makes a striking focal point in a 5-gallon or larger container with other flowers around it.
