These statuesque 3'-4' tall amaranths have feathery spikes of warm cinnamon & bronze tipped pistachio-green plumes that gently ruffle in the slightest summer breeze. Picture its fuzzy spires with sunflowers and purple asters in early fall, and you will soon be a fan of Autumn Palette. The young leaves can be eaten fresh in salads or cooked like spinach, and the mature seeds are edible nutritious grains. Plants are drought hardy when established.
When to sow outside: RECOMMENDED. 1 to 2 weeks after average last frost.
When to start inside: 4 to 6 weeks before last frost.
Special Germination Instructions: Germination is best when soil temps are 65 to 75 degrees.
