A moisture meter takes the guesswork out of when to water if you\u2019re doing it by hand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Mulch heavily around plants <\/strong>once soil has warmed. In raised beds, organic mulch is especially important since the higher drainage means faster moisture loss.
