Why?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Cat grass is high in fiber and helps cats digest their food more efficiently and even helps prevent the build-up of hairballs.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It supplies chlorophyll, vitamins, and trace minerals\u2014all things cats need to be healthy.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It can help ease their upset stomach from hairballs or something they have eaten.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"Why_Grow_Your_Own_Cat_Grass_Versus_&#8220;Regular&#8221;_Grass?\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why Grow Your Own Cat Grass Versus &#8220;Regular&#8221; Grass?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Lawn grass is harder to digest than the tender wheat, barley, or oats in special cat grass mixes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Lawns are often treated with fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides that can be harmful if ingested.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Growing your own cat grass indoors allows you to monitor your cat&#8217;s greens intake, making sure they aren&#8217;t eating too much, too fast. Especially when cats don&#8217;t have regular access to greens, they get excited to have some salad!<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cat grass is a safe alternative to house plants, which can make them sick. It satisfies the natural need cats have to graze.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"How_to_Grow&nbsp;Cat_Grass\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to Grow&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.botanicalinterests.com\/category\/Cat-Grass-Catnip-Seeds\">Cat Grass<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Choose a growing container that is heavy enough so your cat won&#8217;t knock it over.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fill the clean growing container with moistened potting soil or seed-starting mix up to 1&#8243; from the top.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Scatter cat grass seeds about \u00bc&#8221; apart and cover with up to \u00bd &#8221; of potting soil or seed-starting mix.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Water the seeded area and cover it with plastic wrap to keep the moisture in. Keep seeds moist until they sprout.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Remove the plastic wrap once seeds sprout and place the sprouted container of grass in a sunny window or under a grow light and water regularly.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once seedlings are 2&#8243; tall (about 10 to 14 days), you can offer the container of greens to your feline friend.
