Successful

Very successful germination and plant growth in raised bed. After overwintering in straw cover, will transplant to a larger area and hope for fruit this year!

So far so good

Started indoors with even germination (around 80%). Grew on south-facing windowsill for 6 weeks. A couple died from damping-off and one had some leaf disease, but enough survived. Transplanted last week. I'm growing these as a foliage plant in an annual flower bed, but I do hope to harvest a few for dinner in the late summer / early fall.
