Heirloom Beauties has something for every sunflower lover—sunny yellows of 'Lemon Queen', beautiful warm tones of 'Autumn Beauty', and deep reds of 'Velvet Queen'. This mix of 4"-8" wide, richly hued sunflowers is easy to grow and a stunning addition to any garden. Multiple branching plants produce a multitude of blossoms for a generous amount of cut flowers and lots of pollinator activity all summer long.

Variety Information: LEMON QUEEN: 5"–7" wide, lemon yellow. AUTUMN BEAUTY: 5"–8" wide in autumnal shades of orange, yellow, gold, and maroon bi-colors. VELVET QUEEN: 4"–6" wide crimson/rust red.

Exposure: Full sun

Bloom Period: Summer to frost

Attributes: Attracts Pollinators, Cut Flower, Drought Tolerant, Heat Tolerant

When to Sow Outside: RECOMMENDED. 1 to 2 weeks after your average last frost date.

When to Start Inside: 2 to 4 weeks before your average last frost date. Sunflowers are sensitive to root disturbance; sow in biodegradable pots that can be planted directly in the ground.

Seed Depth: ¼"–½"

Seed Spacing: A group of 3 seeds every 18" – 24"

Thinning: When 3" tall, thin to 1 every 18"–24"

I have lots of germinated Sunflower plants but no flowers yet. Our summer started with a drought and water restrictions.

Yes, It's a wonderful show exactly as Botanical Interest's description: "... sunny yellows of 'Lemon Queen', beautiful warm tones of 'Autumn Beauty', and deep reds of 'Velvet Queen'. Multiple branching plants produce a multitude of blossoms for a generous amount of cut flowers." They grow tall and with so many branches and flowers. Very beautiful and long lasting in the vase. I've tried sunflowers in the past without any luck since deer, squirrels or chipmunks eat everything in my yard. I was determined to grow some this year and this is the only one that survived for me! Gorgeous!

I was hoping for more red-orange shades but I guess I accidentally thinned to all the yellow shades coincidentally. But nevertheless I still got a few red ones and they grew amazing! They grew to about 6 feet in my almost white beach sand soil which I think is amazing considering how bad the soil is. They would have gotten taller in richer soil so I will do that next time.
