Kitchen Garden Kit

Growing microgreens and baby greens is practical and fun! Micro- and baby greens are tiny, tender, and flavorful seedlings of vegetables and/or herbs. Microgreens may be harvested for their youngest leaves, while baby greens are harvested at 2"–4". Both pack a big punch when it comes to nutrients. Studies show they can be up to 40 times richer in vital nutrients than their mature counterparts.

Our Kitchen Garden Kit includes Wonder Soil Organic Seedling Mix, which is made from renewable coconut fiber (a sustainable alternative to peat), and is specially formulated for microgreens and baby greens; a perforated growing tray; a solid drip tray; and a clear dome lid to ensure high humidity-the perfect environment for your seedlings. Instruction booklet included for your growing success!

Growing Micrigreens for my Family
Review star icon Review star icon Review star icon Review star icon Review star icon Jul 20, 2018
So excited to find a kit to enable me to grow microgreens in my kitchen, equipped with the proper soil, container, instructions and more. My family will have the freshest, most nutritious microgreens without even going to the grocery store.

Great Concept Horrible Soil

Note: I purchased this item from a retailer not online from BI. I am a very experience gardener (over 10 years) and picked this up while shopping for other garden supplies earlier this year year. I usually start my microgreens in 1010 trays with hemp pads or my usually seed starting mix but decided to give this product a try because I like the fact that it was self contained. I sowed some seeds about 3 weeks ago and the growth was horrible. All the seeds germinated but from moment of germination that plants looked ill and just never recovered. I finally clipped the plants yesterday and none were more that and inch tall (this is after 3 weeks). My process of elimination, I have determined that the issue has to be the soil - not sure if its the coir some other ingredient, but the soil is just not right. I have three other trays of micro/baby greens going under the same conditions (bottom watering; led lights one 16 hours per day but with regular peat based potting mix) and they are all doing great! If you are a novice and want to try micro greens and dont want to go shopping for all the components then I think this set is worth buying, but please toss the soil and get a bag of seed starter (for micro greens) or potting mix (if you want to grow to baby greens size.
Owner Response: Hi Donna, We are sorry that you had a poor experience with the included soil. We are currently working on a new, improved soil formulation for the Kitchen Garden Kit and we appreciate your feedback.
