I just saw the garden my neighbor created this Spring with this mix, and it's GORGEOUS! I had to find this website so that I can order some for next Spring.

Excellent results

I bought this made-for-shade pack from Sprouts. Very happy with the results. Fast germination rates and a nice mix of colors, textures.

Not as many flowers as expected

4 out of 5 stars Jan 27, 2021
I purchased a large pack in a store locally last spring and sowed the seeds in what looked like an ideal shady location with sun for just a while in the afternoon. I was very excited when I started to see seeds germinating, and I was able to identify the poppy and a couple others but I definitely did not get all the types I expected from the information on the packet. I really enjoyed what came up but I was hoping for a thicker patch of flowers with more variety.

Lots of balsam

This mix grew well. My shadiest parts of the yard grew almost exclusively balsam, but more plants grew in part shade. Nothing seemed to come back the following year.

Delicate & Colorful

Extremely pleased with this gorgeous mix. Growing so well in my dappled/shade bed. Many forget-me-nots, candy tuft, stock, and definitely have some poppies and snaps coming. Amazed some of these could grow in Central Texas. We had heavy rain for a few weeks and that made these burst to life, so I suggest thorough watering for seedlings.

Disappointed

Nothing has shown from this packet. Very disappointed.
Marie from NJ
Owner Response: Hi Marie, Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry you had trouble with this flower mix. You've left several disappointed reviews on flower mixes today. We would love to help you get growing. Our seeds are tested by a third-party laboratory to ensure germination rates meet federal and our own standards. It often just takes a little trick to get that same, great germination at home also. We are always here to help!

Made in the shade

For shaded or semi-shaded areas, one can't beat Made in the Shade seeds. I've purchased a half dozen packets over the last 5 years and experienced high levels of germination and strong, healthy plants each time.

Made in the Shade - Not so much

2 out of 5 stars Dec 12, 2021
It could have been the overabundance of rain in July, but these certainly did not meet my expectations. At least I got a few tiny flowers from them.
Jeanne from MA
Owner Response: Hi Jeanne, We are sorry you had difficulty with this mix. Flower size and abundance are factors impacted by environmental conditions. A soil test may be helpful to help determine how conditions could be improved. A customer service agent will be with you to see how they can help.

Stunning

I've purchased this packet twice. My side yard is very small and this was way more than needed but it looks like a faerie wonderland in summer.

Grateful For This Shade Mix

5 out of 5 stars Mar 8, 2022
I'm grateful for this mix because of one plant, Balsam, which is the only perennial that will grow in a plot of dirt under a spruce tree which is hostile to everything else. I've tried several mixes, but there's no way I could have predicted what would survive. I was astonished.

grows where nothing else survived

I love this shade mix, as well as "water wise" for sunny spots. In Brooklyn NY on the sidewalks there is dog pee, poop. garbage, foot traffic, etc. I was able to get incredible yellow English Wallflowers blooming last winter and early spring... from the previous spring's seed packet! In gated areas that serve as a dog toilet and weed patch. Unbelievable. Also, when I planted this mix under a tree in March, in the gated area next to the dog park in Cooper Park, we got blooms in spring for a month--including the poppies which were breathtaking. There is always a little luck involved in terms of rain and temperatures, and the further from my apartment I plant these, the less likely I can carry water to help seedlings survive without water... but generally, your seeds are the absolute best. LOVE them. Ditto on the Sunflowers and Morning Glories which have brought so much color and joy to what used to be a dull block on my walk from my apartment to the park.

Can you show some mixes that are deer resistant?
