Days to Emerge:
When to sow outside: RECOMMENDED. 2 to 4 weeks before average last frost, and when soil temperature is 60°–70°F. Successive Sowings: Every 3 weeks until 2 weeks before the first fall frost. In USDA zone 8 or warmer, also sow in fall for winter harvest.
When to start inside: 4 to 6 weeks before average last frost, and in summer when soil temperature outside is too warm (above 80°F) to germinate lettuce seed. In summer’s heat, grow in the afternoon shade of other crops.
Harvesting: Individual leaves can be harvested any time as desired. The whole plant can be sheared to 2" above ground level when plant is up to 8" in diameter; more leaves will be produced.
