Melons flourish in the heat and use lots of water while growing (thus the unending juiciness). Melons also grow well on a trellis, which saves space and helps prevent disease.

Did you know that what we call cantaloupes are really muskemlons? True cantaloupes are hard-shelled melons from Europe. Honeydew melons differ from muskmelons in that the skin is smooth, the flesh is green, and the scent is markedly different.
