DIY Holiday Decor
Have fun being creative while saving money this holiday season! Making your own holiday decorations can be a fun family activity, while creating something beautiful and unique for your tree, wreath, or centerpiece.
Traditional Cranberry & Popcorn Garland
Supplies:
- Unwaxed dental floss
- Large sewing needle
- Cranberries
- Popcorn
Directions:
First, thread the dental floss through the sewing needle. Next, thread the cranberries and popcorn onto the strand of dental floss. Finally, tie each end around the last cranberry to keep the threaded items in place. At season’s end, compost the cranberries and popcorn, and discard the floss.
Frosted Pinecones
Supplies:
- Small paint brush
- Craft glue
- Pinecones
- Clear glitter
Directions:
Using the paint brush, paint a thick layer of craft glue onto each tip of the pinecones. Next, pour a generous amount of glitter on the pinecone tips or dip each tip into the glitter.
