Broccoli
Garden-fresh broccoli is crunchy and full of flavor and nutrients. Each plant produces one central "head", which is actually a cluster of unopened flowers, that should be harvested while the flower buds are still tightly closed. Small, mini-broccolis or "side shoots" will follow, allowing for a couple more harvests. Broccoli is not only frost tolerant but produces best in the cool weather of spring and fall (fall and winter in mild climates).
