Growing Info

Harvesting: Hard-shelled gourds should remain in the garden as long as there is any life left in the vines. Some gourd growers leave gourds in the garden during the winter, which adds to their characteristics for craft projects. Use a sharp knife or pruners to cut stem leading to gourd, leaving 1"–3" of stem for a handle.

Seeds growing and I would have a whole lot more but a naughty little squirrel dug in my planter and destroyed some

This was my first time growing luffa sponge and I had such a beautiful success with it. Four plants grew an amazing harvest. I’ve told all of my friends how fun & easy it was to grow, and I’ve shared my harvested luffa seeds and sponges as well. One luffa gives you hundreds of seeds and the sponge has been amazing to use in the shower. This is my new favorite plant!

Love all your products. Very high quality. For some reason, my luffa took a long time to sprout and I'm finally at the point where they're almost ready to harvest. Luckily I'm in So Cal so the weather is allowing this growing so late in the season. I'm going to start them earlier this year!
