Growing Info

Harvesting: Harvest when the squash's rind is hard enough that you can't dent it with your fingernail and before first frost. Cut stem, (don't break it off) leaving 2" of stem attached, which keeps the squash whole, leaving no opening for infection. Though fruits are hard and may seem indestructible, treat them gently; bruising can spoil squash.

Had to write a second review. I got 1-3 squash per vine and they’ve produced well through our mild seasons of zone 9b. These are delicious - replace any butternut squash recipe with this lakota squash - you won’t be disappointed. Cant wait to plant them again next year!

These bad boys are taking over not just my garden, but my entire backyard. Description was not kidding when they said 10-20 ft vines - WOW. Plants were VERY slow to start, almost looked like they weren’t going to make it but then boom they took off and there’s no stopping them now. Great product. Zone 9b - southern florida.
