Baby Choi Bok Choy Seeds

Brassica rapa subsp. chinensis

This ancient, Asian green, also called pak choi, is just as excellent in a stir fry as in a marinated salad. Harvest at 5"–6" tall in only about 35 days for tender, baby choi. Plants are ideal for growing in containers, make a pretty addition to mixed containers, and resist bolting.

    Big fan

In my decades of gardening, I'd never grown bok choy before. A fellow community gardener gave me some of her excess harvest last year, and recommended your seeds. And boy howdy, I am so glad she did!

Bolted before I ever saw a harvest

These baby bok choy bolted before I could harvest any leaves. I'm so bummed! In contrast, I am successfully growing Seed Savers Exchange's "Prize Choy", and harvesting huge leaves every few days, and have been since April! The SSE prize choy are still going strong even now. I LOVE botanical interests. I love the variety of seeds, the free shipping on seeds, and the "thank you" lettuce mix I sometimes receive with my orders (by the way, the thank you lettuce has NOT bolted yet and is happy as can be!) I'm wondering whether this particular packet of seeds was taken from an early bolting plant?

    Sprouts quickly

I was surprised to see that these seeds sprouted so quickly. Put them in soil then next day they sprouted out of the soil. I can't wait to see how they look when they're bigger!

    Baby Choi Bok Seeds

Did not germinate at all after planting 3-29. Have replanted 4-19 and covered with hoops and frost cloth.
