    Hey Aileen,

Thanks so much for sharing your experience with the Black Velvet Nasturtium Seeds! We really appreciate you taking the time to leave this feedback.

It sounds like your nasturtiums were absolutely thriving—3 feet is some seriously impressive growth! While our size estimates are based on typical growing conditions, nasturtiums can definitely exceed expectations when they're really happy with their environment. Factors like soil richness, sunlight, water, and even temperature can all contribute to more vigorous growth than anticipated.

We know it can be surprising when plants grow much larger than expected, especially if space is a consideration in your garden. Your experience is really valuable feedback for us and helps other gardeners know what to potentially expect.

We hope you were still able to enjoy those beautiful blooms and maybe even some of the edible flowers and leaves that nasturtiums are known for!

Thanks again for sharing your growing experience with us 🌻

    Beautiful but...

Placed 4 of them in a container with Alyssum for a Christmas display in my garden. They covered the 3 foot container on all sides plus I ran it up the back wall. Yes, AMAZING. The 4 star rating is due to the color which was more orange than a deep, dark black. Some of the flowers were darker but none were what I was hoping for.

    Hey Lillian,

Thank you so much for this detailed 4-star review and for sharing your experience with the Black Velvet Nasturtium Seeds! It's amazing to hear that they completely covered your 3-foot container on all sides and even climbed up the back wall - that kind of vigorous growth and coverage sounds absolutely stunning for a Christmas display!

I really appreciate your honest feedback about the color variation. Nasturtium colors can sometimes lean more toward the orange spectrum depending on soil conditions, pH levels, and growing environment, even with varieties bred for darker tones. It sounds like you did get some of those deeper, darker blooms mixed in, which shows the genetic potential is there.

The fact that they performed so beautifully in terms of growth and coverage while paired with Alyssum must have created a gorgeous display, even if the color wasn't exactly what you were envisioning. That kind of cascading effect you described sounds really impressive!

Thanks for the thoughtful review and for giving them a try in your garden.

    Keep on growing 🌻️

    Hey Anastasia,

Thank you for the 3-star review and for sharing your experience with the Black Velvet Nasturtium Seeds! We appreciate your honest feedback about the spotty germination. Nasturtiums can sometimes be a bit finicky when it comes to germination conditions - they really prefer their soil on the drier side and can be sensitive to temperature fluctuations. We're sorry this batch didn't perform as consistently as we'd hope. Your feedback helps us continuously improve our seed quality. Keep on growing 🌻
