English Tall/Vera Lavender Seeds

Lavandula angustifolia

This is the tall, old-fashioned, wonderfully fragrant lavender that is an extremely valuable and easy to use household herb, an important ingredient in fragrance sachets and potpourris, an excellent cut and dried flower for arrangements, and a most useful component of innumerable craft projects. Add the flowers to a simple syrup to make craft cocktails/mocktails or lavender lemonade. Bake into bread, cookies, or scones and use to flavor jellies. Perfect for rock gardens, or as a short hedge, and attracts pollinators.

    I’m so sad

I planted these per instructions and nothing. I’ve waited over 2 weeks and nothing. I still have a few seeds left, so I’ll try again but I’m losing hope.

    Hey Susan,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with the English Tall/Vera Lavender Seeds. I'm sorry to hear about your disappointment with the germination results so far. Lavender seeds can definitely be challenging - they're known for being slow starters and sometimes need extra patience. Two weeks might seem like a long time, but lavender seeds can take anywhere from 2-6 weeks to germinate, and sometimes even longer depending on conditions. We're glad you still have some seeds left to try again, and we're rooting for better results with your next attempt. Your persistence shows real dedication to growing, and we appreciate you giving it another go. We hope you'll let us know how it goes. Keep on growing 🌻

Great luck with seed germination and later growth.

I planted the lavender seeds late last summer (2025). Overwintered in unheated greenhouse (we had a fairly mild winter). I now have 20 gallon sized plants looking really good. Gave them a haircut earlier this Spring, and they have now filled out beautifully. Very impressed with Botantical Interest seeds.

Have been planting lavender for years. The bees are very attracted to it.

I try to plant it next to some varieties as companion planting.
