Favourite Blend French Marigold Seeds

Tagetes patula

These bright marigolds call in pollinators big and small. Flowers with a single row of petals make pollen access easy. Compact plants are tidy and full; beautiful at the front of a bed or tucked between vegetables. Plants grow and flower quickly with continuous blooms from spring until frost. French marigolds are edible, but with a very strong flavor similar to its pungent scent. Fairly drought tolerant once established.

    Moderate germination rate

Planted two seeds per cell in a 16-count tray and ended up with 12 seedlings; kind of disappointed with that as I had a great seed starting medium, a heat mat, and then multi-color grow lights. The seedlings are growing slowly and I'm hoping for the best. The upside is these little plants look healthy and with the reduced number, I don't have to worry about thinning : ) Expecting beautiful flowers this summer! Would try these seeds again.

    Hey Cynthia,

Thank you so much for this thoughtful 3-star review of the Favourite Blend French Marigold Seeds! I can totally understand the disappointment with getting 12 seedlings from 32 seeds, especially when you had everything set up perfectly with the quality seed starting medium, heat mat, and grow lights.

It sounds like you're doing everything right on your end - your setup sounds fantastic! While the germination rate wasn't what we'd hope for, I'm really glad to hear that the seedlings you do have are looking healthy and growing. Sometimes marigolds can be a bit slower to get going, but once they hit their stride they usually take off beautifully.

You're absolutely right about the silver lining with not having to thin! And with 12 healthy plants, you should still get a lovely display of those gorgeous French marigold blooms this summer. The Favourite Blend has such beautiful color variations that even with fewer plants, they'll put on quite a show.

Thanks for being willing to give these seeds another try - your feedback really helps us understand how our products are performing for gardeners like yourself.

    Great buy

Holy cannoli, these are beautiful! Got a pack from my local Armatrong Nursery. I planted a few of these as companions for my vegetable garden and boy they did not disappoint! They were the perfect size for my garden and deterred pests. They bloomed beautifully after a few days of rain.

Easy to grow and I was surprised how tall these grew. Bees and butterflies flocked to these plants and they added a bright colorful spot to my vegetable garden.
