| Growing & Harvesting | Pick, and pick some more! Overly mature cucumbers on the vine will slow production of new cucumbers. Cut the stem rather than pulling at the fruit, as stems are fragile. To increase the quality and storage time, once picked, immediately immerse in cold water to disperse "field heat". |

Once Hokus takes off it doesn’t stop rewarding you with tiny gherkin after gherkin. This seed did not disappoint. Excellent germination too.

Grew this variety for the first time this year. They are fantastic producers of small cucumbers that come in a good time frame for making gherkins. The cucumbers are very spiky and best harvested with gloves. Harvest every day to get ones for the perfect size, cut off the blossom end, keep a jar of brine in the fridge, and just keep adding to it / eating from it. I cannot comment on their raw taste, as we only use these for pickles.

I had high hopes for these. But after painstakingly growing them from seed and waiting to harvest them, every harvest has come up bitter. I'm talking so bitter that you spit it out, rinse your mouth out and even 30 minutes later, can still taste the bitterness. It is HORRENDOUS. I am really disappointed as these had good reviews. I'm not sure if I was sent the wrong thing, or wild cucumbers or something but these are awful.

Not sure what went wrong. Pretty good germination but omg they tasted so bad. Acidic maybe? Didnt matter if harvested small or big. Consistent watering throughout. Could not eat them even soaked in water and vinegar. Nothing helped.
