Coverage & Planting Details

Coverage This packet sows up to 22 feet of trellised cucumbers.
Row Spacing 36"
Seed Depth ½"
Seed Spacing A group of 2 seeds every 12"
Thinning When 3 leaves, thin to 1 plant every 12"
Germination 5–10 days
Start Indoors 2 to 4 weeks before average last frost. Cucumbers are sensitive to root disturbance; sow in biodegradable pots.
Direct Sow RECOMMENDED. 1 to 2 weeks after your average last frost date, and when soil temperature is at least 60°F, ideally 70°–90°F.
Growing & Harvesting Pick, and pick some more! Overly mature cucumbers on the vine will slow production of new cucumbers. Cut the stem rather than pulling at the fruit, as stems are fragile. To increase the quality and storage time, once picked, immediately immerse in cold water to disperse field heat.

    Seeds did not germinate

The weather in Texas has been very hot these year. Maybe this is whey these did not germinate.

    Hey Carol,

sharing this same message I just left regarding your other cucumbers. I am so sorry your cucumbers stalled out! Because your seeds successfully germinated, it means they were healthy and viable, but young plants will often pause their growth due to environmental stress. In the intense Texas heat, young cucumbers can go into "survival mode," and factors like inconsistent watering or depleted soil nutrients can also halt their progress. We want to see you succeed, so please reach out to us at customerservice@epicgardening.com with a few details about your garden setup, and we'd be happy to help you troubleshoot! Your feedback is invaluable to us, and we are committed to ensuring your experience is positive. Thank you once again for your input. Keep on growing 🌻️

    Amazing Cucumber for Hot Climates

I bought these seeds from my local nursery (still botanical interest brand) and absolutely loved them! This is my first year successfully having cucumbers, that weren’t destroy by cucumber beetles, squash vine bores or the crazy heat and still pollinated after the temperature reach the high 90s. So far I’ve had cucumbers to eat and to pickle which is crazy as I only have them planted in one 1 foot x 3 foot area. Would 100/10 recommend for my warm climate growers, this vine grows fast, produces a ton and tastes great!

    Hey Jae,

We're so happy to hear that our our Homemade Pickles Cucumber Seeds were your first cucumbers to survive all those common garden challenges - cucumber beetles, squash vine borers, AND those brutal high 90s temperatures. That's exactly what we love to hear! What a great harvest, cucumbers for both eating fresh and pickling from just a 1x3 foot space is amazing productivity. Thanks for sharing your fantastic cucumber growing success with us! Keep on growing 🌻️

    Passed Tge Family Taste Test

I never had a chance to make pickles because my family enjoyed them right after picking. Hopefully I can pickle them this year.

    Hey Jazz,

We love to hear your Homemade Pickles Cucumber Seeds passed the family taste test with flying colors! It's such a good problem to have when the cucumbers are so delicious fresh that they never make it to the pickle jar. Here's hoping you can grow enough this year to satisfy both the fresh eating and the pickling - maybe plant an extra row or two! Keep on growing 🌻️
