Coverage & Planting Details

Coverage This packet sows up to 18 feet.
Row Spacing 18"
Seed Depth 1"
Seed Spacing 2"
Thinning Not required.
Germination 5–10 days
Start Indoors Not recommended.
Direct Sow RECOMMENDED. 4 to 6 weeks before your average last frost date, when soil temperature is at least 40°F, ideally 60°–80°F and again 10 to 12 weeks before your average first frost date. In Mild Climates, sow in fall or winter for winter harvest. Best grown in temperatures less than 85°F.
Growing & Harvesting Shelling peas should be harvested when the pods are plump, about 3 weeks after flowering. Peas that are too mature are tough and will cause the plant to stop producing; therefore, harvest regularly when pods are at their peak. Use scissors to harvest or hold vine with one hand and pick the pods with the other; vines are fragile.

    Perfect peas

I’ve tried other pea varieties but this is the only pea I will ever grow! Plants are short and low maintenance. Multiple harvests. Peas so delicious and tender we eat them right out of the pods as we pick them.

This is my first time growing shelling peas, and these petite peas did not disappoint! They have required basically zero effort and have made plentiful peas. I will say that my pods had an average of 4-5 peas which is less than advertised, but there’s plenty of pods and I’m sure with more care they’d be more vigorous. I only planted a few just to test this fall season, and I’m wishing I planted more!
