Planting Details

Seed Depth Press into surface
Seed Spacing A group of 3 seeds every 12"
Thinning When 2" tall, thin to 1 every 12"
Germination 12 – 30 days
Start Indoors RECOMMENDED. 8 to 10 weeks before your average last frost date.
Direct Sow 1 to 2 weeks before your average last frost date. Mild Climates: Sow in late summer or fall for cool-season blooms.
Special Sowing Darkness aids germination. Press seed into soil surface and cover with something opaque to completely exclude light. When seedlings emerge, remove cover.
Special Care Pinch back tips once plants have at least 4 sets of leaves to encourage branching, which will create a sturdier plant. Staking may be necessary. Deadhead (remove spent blossoms) regularly for continued production.

Watch the channel nightly on YouTube. Learn so much. Also appreciate that you and Jacque have fun with it, laugh at yourselves, and aren’t perfect in the garden. Big fan. Thank you.

Had hoped for Salpiglossis mixed colors , although the last order of seeds produces a majority of yellows. So the deep blue Kew Blue were welcome. They seemed to germinate quicker than usual. Salpiglossis can be tricky to grow but so far they are looking great in six pack containers.

Thought this flower was going to be a bust for me BUT they gave out the most beautiful flower and gave my bouquet an whimsical boost. This flower is a slooooow grower however. I planted in fall zone 10 and didn’t bloom until June/July. I almost thought they didn’t make it due to slow growth. Multiple, small bloom trumpet-like flowers on each stem. Continuous blooms even after harvest. I will grow again because they give my bouquets a different element that my other flowers don’t have.
