Growing Info

Harvesting: For the most tender turnip, harvest when roots are no larger than 5" in diameter; however, a 3" root will still be of quite good quality. If allowed to grow larger, up to 6", the quality will not be the best for raw use, but will be fine for cooking. If sown for baby greens, harvest greens at 2"–4" tall. Harvesting no more than 25% of the plant's leaves at a time will not affect the plant's ability to produce large roots.

    White Lady Turnip

Vigorous top growth but root is still a bit small. Will await for further maturation since we planted these a bit late when things were much cooler. Germination was robust!

Great germ rate, easy to grow?

Easiest thing I’ve ever grown! They didn’t mind a little frost (low 30s), harvested November 25 in Zone 7A, great tasting raw or roasted. Highly recommend!

    Hey Helen,

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience with our Turnip White Lady Seeds! We love hearing that they were the easiest thing you've ever grown - that's exactly what we hope for with this variety! It's fantastic that they handled those low 30s temperatures like champs and were ready for harvest on November 25th in Zone 7A. We're thrilled that you're enjoying them both raw and roasted - there's nothing quite like that fresh, crisp flavor straight from the garden. Thanks for the enthusiastic recommendation and for sharing your growing success with us. Keep on growing 🌻️

    Beautiful, fast growing

I love these turnips. They develop a large, tender root very quickly--faster than other turnips I've grown. My only complaint is that there were not many seeds in the envelope this year.

    Hey Deborah,

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience! We’re thrilled to hear that these turnips performed so well for you — large, tender roots in such a short time is exactly what we hope our growers enjoy.

Regarding the seed count, we truly appreciate your feedback. Our prices and packet quantities are closely tied to the farms we work with, who invest significant resources to grow high-quality seed that meets and often exceeds USDA standards. That said, we never want you to feel disappointed with what you receive, and your note helps us continue improving.

Thank you again for growing with us, and we’re so glad the harvest was a success! Keep on growing 🌻️

    Tasty little turnip

These turnips grew quite well in my area, and held up against some lingering late summer / early fall warm weather. They are also some of the most tender turnips i have ever eaten, will definitely grow these again!
