Row Spacing 18"
Seed Depth Press into surface
Seed Spacing A tiny pinch of seeds every 12"
Thinning When 2"–3" tall, thin to 1 every 12"
Germination 7–14 days
Start Indoors RECOMMENDED. 6 to 8 weeks before your average last frost date. Optimal soil temperature for germination is 70°–78°F.
Direct Sow 2 to 4 weeks after your average last frost date, when temperatures are warm and settled, and as late as 2 months before your first fall frost date.
Growing & Harvesting Cut stems when needed after the plant is at least 6" tall, leaving 4–6 pairs of leaves on the plant. Some oregano aficionados claim the best flavor comes just before the plant flowers. Pruning the stems also encourages fullness and fresh, new growth on the plant.

seed planting results with True Greek Oregano

The starts that are now up with third leaves are very good, However, we got only one good start from every 4 seeds planted, not the best germination statistics

    They all germinated

Bought oregano seeds in Costa Rica, we tried different sowing methods but none of them worked, but the ones we bought with Botanical Interests, popped up in 4 - 5 days, which was surprising and a big relief, since we thought we were just bad at growing oregano.

Excellent flavor! Grows well and easy to start from seed in trays. I dried a lot of it, jarred it and stuck it in the fridge. Been using it for several months now -until next season!
