Onions
Whether you're frying up onion rings or caramelizing them for onion jam (mouthwatering recipe included inside Cabernet seed packets), onions require special attention at sowing because their growth is triggered by day length (indicated by latitude). Therefore, you'll need to choose onion seed based on where you live, allowing them enough time to grow before bulbing begins. Each onion is identified as long day (14 to 16 hours of sunlight), intermediate day (12 to 14 hours of sunlight), or short day (10 to 12 hours of sunlight).
