Q: Are any tools necessary for assembly?
A: Nope! We do recommend always keeping a pair of gloves near by when assembling just in case!
Q: What do I use these for?
A: We recommend utilizing a Tree Surround for new or existing trees to keep grass away from the base of the trunk and encourage water infiltration. This will allow you to have more control over your growing environment around specific trees and bushes while looking great in your yard!
Q: Where can these be placed?A: Our Birdies Tree Surrounds can be placed on level and sloping ground.
Q. What are the Tree Surrounds made from? Will they rust?
A: Like most of our Birdies Beds these tree surrounds are made of 24-gauge cold-rolled steel with an aluminum-zinc (aluzinc) alloy coating. The aluzinc steel is 100% food-safe and up to 7x more rust-resistant and corrosion-resistant than standard galvanized metal. This ultra-strong metal is often used to make gutters, down pipes, and rainwater harvesting tanks.
Like all iron-based metals, all steel will rust eventually. With proper care, these Tree Surrounds are built to last 10+ years. We still have original Tree Surround prototype beds from 2007 in our gardens, which show minimal signs of rust and corrosion.

This product is exactly the size I was looking for in a tree surround. Assembly of the metal parts was easy. It is functionally perfect around the trees I used it for. The only issue is the black plastic weather stripping that's placed along the top surface. It's a bit of a pain to push it into place, no big deal other than sore fingers, but when you're finished the cut edges pop up and I have to use duck tape to keep it down. I would suggest investigating a different type of plastic material or something to prevent this from happening.

We really appreciate you bringing up the issue with the black plastic weather stripping. That's such valuable feedback about the installation being tough on the fingers and especially about those cut edges popping up afterward. Nobody wants to have to break out the duct tape to finish a project that should be ready to go once it's assembled!

Purchased this specifically for a lone hydrangea planted on the side of our house where the soil was continually washing away each time it rained. Since installing this around the shrub it is containing the soil and the shrub is happy. I have the larger ones for growing veg for a few years now, they look great and no breakdown of product. Very well made and lasting. Love the green color.

I have 9 of these beds and I love them. For my vegetable garden I have tall beds that keep me up off the ground. The tree ring defines the planting space and keeps a uniform look in my garden.
