Goblin' is a first-year flowering perennial and compact-growing selection created by crossing native gaillardias. Butterflies love the bright red and yellow bicolored flowers that are continually produced from summer through frost. After the petals fall, the round, reddish-brown seed heads mix among the flowers for added interest and for bird forage. Plants look great even in the heat of summer when many other plants seem to fade. Long-lasting flowers are ideal for fresh bouquets. Also called blanket flower.

If pollinators wrote reviews, this flower would have a bazillion 5-star reviews. I have two pollinator gardens, one in front and one out back, with a huge variety of pollinator-attracting flowers. This gaillardia is the most-visited flower by the highest diversity of insect pollinators in my whole garden. It's also just so darned photogenic!

I am so excited to sow these seeds. I have a couple of Gaillardia plants in one garden bed and they reseed like crazy, which is amazing. I ordered quite a few native plant seeds and herb seeds that were sown in mid December to go through the winter stratification. I am excited to see how all of the seeds do since they will hopefully be emerging in a few weeks.
