These radiant, single and semi-double flowers hold their heads up high even in heat and drought without the need for staking. Enjoy their glorious beauty as they seduce butterflies with promises of nectar and provide seeds for birds in winter. A long-lasting cut flower with a long bloom period. 'Indian Summer' is an All-America Selections winner and recipient of the European Fleuroselect Quality Mark in 1995. In 2000, it won the prestigious Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit.

Planted seeds as directed on the package and none grew. I have grown flowers from seed prior and these did not grow. I was looking to grow seeds to increase natives in my yard and avoid plastic pots from buying plants locally. Not worth the effort when seeds don’t sprout.

The seeds sprouted nicely. These plants are sort of "demure" they tend to take it easy right out of the gate in my experience- will probably stay smallish for some time. I think its because they are perennials and, after sprouting, sort of stop and work on what's going on underground. That way they are drought tolerant, but it seems strange in a garden where they can get as much moisture as they need.
