I bought a large pack of the Sugar Snap, snap peas at the end of last year, and planted them this spring. I got good germination, however I noticed fairly soon that some of the leaves had a bit of pink at the base, then when they started blooming, some of the blooms were purple. I thought, well, maybe a few seeds from another type got mixed in, not a big deal. But when I finally started getting peas, most of them were shelling peas. I was very disappointed in my peas this year!! I don’t know if they had a problem with seeds mixing, or cross pollination, but there was a big problem with the snap pea seeds from my packet of seeds sold for the 2025 growing season! I had bought a small packet last year, and grown them and they were great, so I was really looking forward to all the tasty peas I would get this year. Definitely a huge disappointment!

Although these have grown and produced beautifully, they are fairly tough and lack the sweet crisp taste of Super Sugar Snaps--maybe I'm just spoiled. I won't order these again. But I LOVE everything else I've gotten from Epic.

I direct sowed an entire packet of sugar daddy and an entire packet of sugar snap peas in 15 gallon buckets. My original plan was to thin them out, but I changed my mind to see how they would do. The sugar snap snap peas are in the right bucket and have grow much faster than the sugar daddy peas in the left bucket. Both were direct sowed with Fox Farms Ocean Forest potting soil. I sowed them in December (Las Vegas, NV, 9A). So far no peas, but I’m sure I’ll get some soon. I’ll update when I get peas 🫛
