This is my first attempt at growing millet, purple or other, so I’m very happy to see it doing so well. This isn’t a great picture because the plant is sharing the spotlight with rhubarb. I did plant some for a friend in their concrete planter, and I’ve already been instructed to grow it for them next year. They’re all standing at about three feet tall, and filling out more daily. Should be interesting to see what birds do when seeds develop.

The first order that I received I did get any germination. That’s why I ordered another one. I don’t have pictures.

Started these under grow lights last Spring. 100% germination within a few days. Strong, beautiful leaves with tall stalks full of millet seed. Staking might be needed depending on your growing conditions. Birds adore the seeds too so if you're a wildlife gardener then it's a must have!

This was difficult seed to come by but I'm so glad I found some. The foliage is a deep, gorgeous purple. The photo was taken when they were in bloom and now that they're at the end of the season they look just like the illustration. Germination was good. I will grow these again.

After a 1:5 peroxide rinse -- sitting 15 min.., then rinsed with plain water -- 100% of seeds germinated overnight - moist paper towel, in dark, warm spot!
