    Beautiful, but not bountiful

    Orlando FL Zone 10a

Beautiful dark green color, only a little disappointed that each pumpkin vine yielded one pumpkin (except one, for a total of 5 pumpkins) with plenty of room to grow. They were the first of my planted pumpkin varieties to fruit and mature, so huge plus. Very quick.

Seeds started in small pots Aug 3, planted Aug 23.

    Hey Colin,

Thank you so much for the 4-star review and for sharing your detailed growing timeline from Orlando! We love hearing from Zone 10a gardeners, and it's awesome that you had such success with the early maturity - getting your first pumpkins to fruit and mature ahead of your other varieties is definitely a huge win, especially when you're planning for Halloween!

We totally understand the mixed feelings about getting one pumpkin per vine when you had plenty of growing space available. Pumpkin production can sometimes be influenced by factors like pollination timing, nutrient allocation, or even just the plant's natural tendency to put all its energy into developing fewer, higher-quality fruits rather than spreading resources across multiple pumpkins. It sounds like your plants were really focused on getting those 5 beautiful pumpkins to full maturity quickly!

That gorgeous dark green color you mentioned is exactly what makes these pumpkins so striking, and the fact that they matured so reliably from your August 3rd seed start to harvest by late October shows they're definitely living up to their reputation for consistent performance in warm climates.

Your growing timeline and experience will be super helpful for other Florida gardeners who want to time their pumpkin planting for Halloween harvest!

    Keep on growing 🌻️
