This Italian heirloom was brought to America by the Nardello family in 1887, and named for the most garden-devoted of their 11 children, Jimmy. The 6"-12" peppers have an exceptionally sweet, rich flavor, making them the quintessential Italian frying pepper. Delicious in chili and salsa, or dried and ground for paprika. Prolific plants grow well in most areas.

    Hey Randy D.,

What a fantastic review! We're absolutely thrilled to hear that your Jimmy Nardello Sweet Pepper Seeds gave you such excellent germination results and sprouted so quickly for you!

That 3-5 day sprouting time is just phenomenal - it really shows that you got a fresh, high-quality seed lot and clearly have your germination setup dialed in perfectly! There's nothing quite as exciting as seeing those first little seedlings pop up, especially when they come up so uniformly and quickly like yours did. It sounds like you're off to an absolutely perfect start with these peppers!

Jimmy Nardellos are such a special variety - you're in for such a treat as these grow out! They're going to reward that excellent germination with some of the most delicious, sweet, thin-walled peppers you've ever tasted. They're absolutely incredible for frying up in olive oil, but honestly they're delicious however you choose to prepare them.

Your experience with that quick, reliable sprouting is going to be so encouraging for other gardeners who might be starting Jimmy Nardello peppers for the first time! It really highlights the quality and viability of these seeds.

We can't wait for you to experience the full growing journey and that amazing harvest that's coming your way!

Thank you so much for sharing such an enthusiastic review about your germination success!

    Keep on growing 🌻️

    What? Hot Jimmy Nardellos?

I planted three Jimmy Nardello plants this year, all started from the same pack of seeds from BI. One of the three plants is producing hot peppers on par with cayenne peppers. The plants and fruits look identical to the sweet Jimmys. I suppose some cross-pollinated seeds got mixed up in the batch. For a hot pepper it is tasty, but I was a little disappointed to not get all sweet Jimmys.

They are still young seedlings, about 8 days old and 4 out of 5 have sprouted but still waiting.
