Every seed germinated surprisingly quickly and easily. I gave each seed a quick sanding with a nail file, planted them about 3/4” deep, three per pot, and they sprouted practically overnight. Took longer than expected to flower, but that was a not-unexpected consequence of my choice to start indoors and transplant outside.
The flowers resemble the artwork; the more robust vines have produced 2-4 flowers at a time consistently since late June. Overall, no surprises, except that the scent of these “High Scent” Sweet Peas is nearly nonexistent! I typically find strong scents overpowering, but I have to stick my nose in these flowers and huff a few times to detect much of anything. My lilac that stopped blooming two months ago is more noticeable…
However! This may be a blessing in disguise because the scent that does exist is… not great! I usually enjoy sweet peas, but these have a smell that I can only describe as the world’s feeblest peony, and the smell of peonies makes me sick. Pollinators don’t notice the flowers, either, so I’ll probably give away my remaining seeds.

Love it! This is April in zone 9b. The first time I’ve had success with sweet peas! I had to sow them way back in November/December and they’re not the healthiest plants bc I’ve totally neglected them thinking they were goners in our heat, but here they are!! I probably would grow them again this year earlier given that I have sufficient space

I've only just discovered Sweet Pea flowers. I was afraid to try to grow them out. I was not sure how easy they would be to grow. However, the Hisgh Scent Sweet pea was a breeze to germinate. With a 98% germination rate. I'm super pleased with them so far. Can't wait to be able to plant them in the spring.

These have become my favorite plants to grow the last few years. They are prolific bloomers and they smell absolutely heavenly. Of all the sweet pea varieties I plant, this variety somehow always has the most blooms and flowers the longest each year.
