    I’m sing’n dah blues!

Although the germination rate was excellent, I only got one color. (blue) not a cascade of colors of red, white, and blue. I wish I would have read the reviews before making this purchase as many others have complained about the same situation.

    Hey Judy,

Thank you so much for your review! The best time to plant Cambridge Blue Lobelia seeds outdoors in your area is about one to two weeks after your average last frost date, which typically falls around April 11. This means mid to late April, or even early May depending on the spring weather, is generally a good time to sow them directly outside. If you’d like to get a head start, you can begin seeds indoors about 8 to 10 weeks before the last frost and then transplant them once the danger of frost has passed. This helps ensure strong, healthy plants that will thrive through the season. I hope that helps. Please feel free to reach out o us with any questions, or check our blog, www.epicgardening.com, or YouTube for more hints and tips. We're happy to help!

    Pretty but only blue

I bought these as I wanted the mixed colors and unfortunately, they are all blue. I sprinkle when I start seeds indoors and have six different bunches of plants throughout my garden beds so I know the packet is just blue - and that is the only reason why they lost two stars. They germinated fabulously and they are holding up in the hot sun and even if I miss a day or two or watering, they bounce right back.

    Hey Julie,

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your thoughts in a review. A flower might not bloom in the color you were expecting for several natural reasons, and it doesn’t necessarily mean something is wrong.
Soil conditions can play a role; certain flowers, like hydrangeas, change color based on soil pH and mineral content. Weather and temperature fluctuations, such as heatwaves or cold snaps, can impact pigment development and lead to muted or altered flower colors.

I grew this cultivar from you last year and it did very well. I started the seeds I recently purchased under grow lights and they have germinated and are waiting for me to transfer them to individual cells. They will move to a cold frame with heating coil and eventually to cold frame with no heat. I will then plant them in my yard sometime in early May.
