Growing Info

Harvesting: When seedlings emerge, the first pair of leaves to show are the cotyledons, which can look very different from the leaves that follow, called "true" leaves. Microgreens are ready to harvest when they have cotyledons, or when the first true leaves have begun to form, depending on preference. Cool growing temperatures may slow the expected amount of days to maturity. Using scissors, cut microgreens just above the soil line when you are ready to use them.

I bought a growing tray and the cilantro seeds to grow micro green cilantro. It has sprouted and I am happy. The tray is on a small table in front of a window facing northwest. I am using coconut coir as the growing medium. I also grew a little outdoors in a pot in organic potting soil on the southeast side of my house. However, the hot sunny weather here killed it. The cilantro is at least as flavorful as what I have been buying in North Carolina stores.

Brought the seeds to Mexico where I am in the winter ….. tried seeds with local dirt and nothing came up 😫but purchased some prepackaged top soil from a local store and replanted with leftover seeds and viola ! Everything is up after just two days !
