Growing Info
Harvesting: Okra is most tender when harvested at about 3"-4" long. Cut the thick stem with a sharp knife. The use of gloves and long sleeves is advised, as some people have a skin irritation reaction to the foliage. After initial harvest, removal of the lowest set of leaves will increase production. Harvest regularly; if pods are allowed to mature, plant will stop producing.

Living in zone 9 and starting my first veggie garden was trial and error. These okra love our ridiculous summer heat and are a strong variety. They have thrived and are still producing regardless of pest infestation I’ve been battling with neem oil! I don’t let them get too big because they become tough quickly. I have 3 mature plants and harvest daily! Diced, well-seasoned and roasted in a 400° oven is a family favorite. This was my best grower from Botanical Interest as a rookie! Try it!

My okra was soaked and planted and then replanted but nothing ever germinated and we never got a harvest. Very disappointed!
