Growing Info

Harvesting: Gardener's Delight' are at the peak of sun-ripened deliciousness when bright red, and have a slight give when gently squeezed. Because 'Gardener's Delight' tends to crack, we recommend picking them at the "first blush" stage, when 50% of the tomatoes' color has begun to change, and ripened at room temperature without decreasing flavor or nutrition.

I grow several different varieties of cherry tomato every year but Gardener's Delight is a staple in my garden. Even in this year of extreme drought it out produced my other cherry tomatoes. In fact, it's now December 14, and I just picked another basket full yesterday. It shut down during the maximum heat of summer but so did all the rest of my tomatoes. As soon as it cooled down into the 90's it started producing again. You cannot go wrong with this delicious tomato.

I only planted one seed start this year with two seeds and both germinated, so that's good sign. The plant grew really well even though it was transplanted in the hottest Alabama heat, and it had the most tomatoes of any other variety in my garden, beating out my Sun Golds. These are closer to golf ball size vs Sun Gold medium grape size. Highly recommend.

Always good seeds well-priced in generous packs. I started with the flower mixtures and then purchased vegetables. All good. Delivered quickly.
