When to Sow Outside: 2 to 4 weeks after your average last frost date, when soil temperature is above 65°F.

When to Start Inside: RECOMMENDED. 8 to 10 weeks before your average last frost date. Sow in biodegradable pots; roots sensitive to disturbance. Ideal soil temperature for germination is 65°–75°F.

Growing Info

Harvesting: For longest vase life, cut in the morning once flowers have fully colored. To dry flowers, hang upside down out of direct sunlight for about 3 weeks until stems are dry and crisp enough to snap. Dried flowers are fragile, so handle gently.

    I started these seeds indoors and planted them into my zone 6b cutting garden Mid-May. One month in, they are the stars of the show. Lots and lots of tall, straight spikes with plenty of shorter side shoots, they have been in my first bouquets and look like they’re just going to keep on producing. While I’m waiting for the other flowers to produce equal stem length, I think I’ll share some with a florist friend.

    I love this statice! You’re the only company who sells it. I grow it winter sow method and it’s very reliable. I’m not crazy about standard statice form but the novelty of these blooms plus the color are are so ethereal (but hardy) in my big flower pots that it makes the pot look like a lovely arrangement. It’s very long lasting in a vase plus dries well.

    This plant makes a great cut flower for our vases and is long lasting. Once you get it in your garden it is easy to grow. Doesn't take a lot of water (we live in Arizona) so this is a great plant for us.
