Harvesting: Smaller kohlrabi is the sweetest and most tender; harvest when 2"–3" in diameter. Those much bigger than the size of a tennis ball won't be as tasty and often have a pithy or woody flesh. Harvest by cutting stems between the soil and where the stem widens.

Zone 5b. I grew the Purple Vienna Kohlrabi by direct sowing in a vertical planter. The bulb took a bit longer than expected to mature, but ended up great at harvest.

I love botanical interests. Their germination rate is true to their words. If not, they’ll send you new seeds. This is my first time growing purple kohlrabi and I couldn’t be happier with the results.
