About Crimson Clover Cover Crop Seeds
Trifolium incarnatum
Upright plant with a taproot, typical 3-leaflet clover leaf and elongated, 1"-long flower heads with crimson flowers that open in succession from bottom to top. Crimson clover grows best in cool weather. In USDA zones 6 and warmer, it is grown as a winter annual for flowering the following spring. Flowers are produced only under long-day conditions (more than 12 hours of daylight).

Germinated within five days and creates very sturdy seedlings. One pack was enough to fill in my 10’ x 4’ raised bed. I also bought a 1/4 lb of crimson clover from a different reputable brand (Johnnys) that I used on two other beds. BI had better and faster germination rates (4-5 days compared to 15-18 days) as well as a darker colored seed. I followed the back of the packet plus used the tickle tap method from Jacques and it worked pretty well. :) Loved this seed packet. Very viable seeds and I can’t wait for the nitrogen fixation nodules to form!
